- Project Type: Multi Family, Affordable, Commercial
- Location: Boulder, Colorado
Diagonal Court is one of the projects that Caddis has completed for Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) as part of Project Renovate, an ambitious renovation plan of six BHP properties to create affordable housing for Boulder’s families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. The projects received HUD approval and low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) funding.
Diagonal Court is a 30-unit, 5-building renovation project, aimed to host families with children. It is within walking distance to shopping, RTD public transportation, restaurants, and more.
Residents enjoy new powder rooms, patios, in-home washers and dryers, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning, and recently renovated living spaces. This community has a playground, community center with computer lab access, and a common open grassy area for gathering. Additionally, solar panels were added to each unit to lower electricity costs for residents and improve the sustainability of the project.
Caddis brought its cohousing expertise to Diagonal Court as well. The community center embodies the same high community energy as seen in cohousing communities.
Diagonal Court takes part in the “I Have a Dream” Foundation’s after-school programs as well as Bringing School Home – an innovative program that brings together high-quality, affordable housing and educational opportunities for the whole family. Apartments are offered at rents below market rate and come with rental assistance as part of BHP’s Deeply Affordable Communities program.
