Kalmia, Madison, and Manhattan are three of the projects that Caddis has completed for Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) as part of Project Renovate, an ambitious renovation plan of six BHP properties to create affordable housing for Boulder’s families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. The projects received HUD approval and low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) funding.
Located near Kalmia and 28th Street, Kalmia provides residents with easy access to public transportation and nearby shopping centers. Residents can enjoy new powder rooms on the main level, in-home washers and dryers, energy-efficient heating and air conditioning, and recently renovated living spaces. This community has a playground, community center with a computer lab, community gardens, and a large common open area for gathering. Kalmia takes part in Bringing School Home – an innovative program that brings together high-quality, affordable housing and educational opportunities for the whole family.
Beautifully renovated in 2022, Madison offers updated one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments and townhomes for adults age 62+, people with disabilities, and families. Located at the corner of Colorado Avenue and 35th Street, Madison provides residents with easy access to RTD bus lines, shopping centers, and Boulder’s nearby bike trail system. The one-bedroom apartments provide independent living spaces for older adults 62+ or people with disabilities, while the two- and three-bedroom apartments are for families. The result of Caddis’s community engagement approach, Madison now offers a community center (with computer access) and free community-wide Wi-Fi.
Located near the intersection of Foothills Parkway and Baseline, Manhattan offers a variety of updated apartment homes. At this recently renovated community, residents enjoy a new community center, common outdoor areas, a playground, in-home washers and dryers, and energy-efficient heating and air-conditioning. The one-bedroom apartments provide independent living spaces for older adults 62+ or people with disabilities. The two- and three-bedroom apartments take part in Bringing School Home.
Apartments at Kalmia, Madison, and Manhattan are offered at rents below-market rate and come with rental assistance as part of BHP’s Deeply Affordable Communities program. and Resident Services staff are available to connect residents to local resources and programming.
