Walnut Place is one of the projects Caddis has completed for Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) as part of Project Renovate, an ambitious renovation plan of six BHP properties to create affordable housing for Boulder’s families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. The projects received HUD approval and low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) funding. This building could not be built under the current land use code, so preservation of this asset is critical to providing affordable housing for seniors downtown.
Walnut Place offers updated apartment homes for older adults age 55+. Located in the heart of downtown Boulder, Walnut Place is just one block from Pearl Street and four blocks from the main RTD bus station with easy access to Boulder Creek, a community park, and nearby grocery and retail shopping.
Residents can enjoy Walnut Place’s newly renovated community center, on-site laundry, some covered parking, and a beautiful patio and garden area. Resident Services staff are available to connect residents to local resources and programming. Apartments are offered at rents below market rate and come with rental assistance as part of BHP’s Deeply Affordable Communities program.
