Caddis’s design work for three Markel Homes’ communities – Blue Sage, Silver Creek, and West Grange – showcases our ability to apply the same architectural product to different sites to create a highly efficient development strategy. The result is contemporary, new urbanist, transitional design homes in vibrant communities. We created construction documents to support Markel’s development work, and we provided building permit assistance to adapt each of these models to different sites.
Each of the Markel Homes communities feature energy-savvy new homes in various shapes and sizes, including single-family, townhome, and duplex offerings. The homes feature large windows, open floor plans, modern finishes, and contemporary design elements. White oak hardwood flooring, stainless steel appliances, and quartz tops in the kitchen and baths are standard. Energy Star® certification and a smart thermostat provide optimal efficiency and indoor comfort, and each home satisfies the U.S. Department of Energy’s Zero Energy Ready Home program. The result is homes that are rooted in the tradition of great architecture but with a modern look and feel.
Blue Sage is located in west Lafayette, nestled between Hecla and Waneka Lakes, with open space and the nearby Coal Creek Trail. Silver Creek is centrally located near restaurants, shops, and trails in Lafayette. West Grange is located in Louisville amid a backdrop of incredible mountain views. It is close to parks, trails, and K-12 schools and is adjacent to hundreds of acres of Boulder County open space. Scenic views stretch from Long’s Peak to the Flatirons and beyond.
