Located in a century-old miner’s cabin in downtown Boulder, River and Woods specializes in locally sourced, elevated, delicious comfort food. The cabin once housed John’s Restaurant, one of Boulder’s first fine dining establishments. When he retired, Chef John and his family wanted to ensure that the cabin would continue this legacy.

River and Woods is bringing that tradition forward. The food is great (of course!), but the setting is exceptional. Part of the construction includes timber from a local silver mine.

Caddis Collaborative was pivotal in the reoccupation of this building as a restaurant. This process involved dealing with a slew of city regulations and thorny entitlement issues. In the end, the project was successful, and the finish came out great!
