This home took advantage of previous work Caddis had done on the same site. Caddis had designed a home on Sugarloaf Mountain in the foothills just outside Boulder. When the client decided not to build the highly customized project, Caddis and the builder decided to proceed with a redesign, teaming up as developers. We harvested the value of the original design process while also making sure that the new design fit a broader spectrum of the market.
Located on a beautiful mountain site near the Switzerland Trail and the Sugarloaf Mountain Trail, the home has views of the Continental Divide. Caddis made sure to emphasize windows in this home to take advantage of those incredible views.
The design incorporates several key elements, including near net-zero energy readiness and fire-resistant exterior materials (like stone, stucco, and metal siding and roofing).
