Caddis Employee Named TGTHR Volunteer of the Year
“Those struggling with homelessness often simply want to be seen,” says Caddis Collaborative business manager Karin Hoskin, “and I’m more than happy to offer that!”
Karin is speaking of her work with TGTHR, an organization serving homeless youth in Caddis’s “hometown” of Boulder, Colorado. Karin was recently named TGTHR Volunteer of the Year.
TGTHR (pronounced “together”) is a social movement and nonprofit organization working with courageous communities across the country to end youth homelessness. For youth between the ages of 12 and 24, TGTHR provides employment assistance, education programs, supportive housing, short-term housing, long-term housing navigation, support and inclusivity groups, family coaching services, life skills development, mental and physical wellness support, and an array of individual and group activities.
Karin began volunteering for TGTHR in 2021 and is a member of the organization’s Street Outreach team. During Street Outreach, Karin (along with other volunteers and TGTHR staff) helps hand out food, hygiene supplies, and other resources to those who are experiencing homelessness and who are in need. This team ensures that TGTHR maintains a consistent presence in the community so that youth in need know where they can go for support and services.
“I ‘hit the streets’ every Wednesday afternoon for a couple of hours handing out food and hygiene products and a smile,” Karin says. “The smiles and gratitude received when simply handing out a peanut butter sandwich and a fresh pair of socks is my favorite part of volunteering with TGTHR.”
Caddis joins TGTHR in recognizing Karin’s outstanding contributions to homeless youth in Boulder. Learn how you can donate to support TGTHR’s work in the community.
